The purpose of this new blog is to encourage fellow Christians with short devotions and thoughts from the Scriptures. Psalm 119:103 "How sweet are Your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!"
Psalm 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path."
The
psalmist likens the word of God to the sweetness of honey. He also
likens it to a light showing the way through the darkness. It is a light
for the individual. In biblical times, a small oil lamp was attached to
a person's leg to shine a light on the pathway in front of them. As
steps were taken the light from the lamp would continually light the
pathway just ahead.
If we have to travel through the moral
darkness of this world, we need the word of God to reveal to us the
hidden obstacles and dangers. Meanwhile, we have the sweetness of God's words to enjoy on our pathway.
